This 7-layer Greek Dip is full of things that are good (or at least not bad!) for you: hummus, light cream cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, chopped Kalamata olives, green onions, feta cheese, and a sprinkling of parsley. Plus, you can either scoop it up with whole-wheat pita chips, Homemade Naan, toasted baguette slices, or even vegetables. It’s a delicious Mediterranean variation of the classic Mexican 7-layer Dip.

This is just a preview of ingredients and method, keep scrolling for full printable recipe.
- Cream cheese – Full fat or low fat will work. Avoid fat-free.
- Milk – Any milkfat percentage will do.
- Dill weed – Or Greek seasoning. If using Greek seasoning, use salt-free, or taste as you go to prevent the cream cheese layer from getting too salty.
- Fresh garlic cloves – You can use dried in a pinch, but fresh is definitely the best way to go.
- Lemon juice – Freshly squeezed, not from a bottle. Add the zest, too, if you’d like.
- Hummus – This makes up the second layer. Store bought is fine here or make your own Classic Hummus. This Roasted Red Pepper Hummus or White Bean and Artichoke Hummus would be delicious as well!
- Kalamata olives – These are my favorite olives. If you’re not familiar with them, they’re milder than green olives but have a slightly more complex, grown-up flavor than black olives. If you just really aren’t a fan of olives, this dip is still great without them. Diced marinated artichoke hearts would be a great replacement if you like those.
- Cucumbers – I like English cucumbers for dishes like this, as they hold up well in the fridge. But any cucumbers will work.
- Diced tomatoes – Roma tomatoes are great here, but you could also just do halved or quartered cherry tomatoes.
- Green onions
- Crumbled feta cheese – Plain or herbed.
- Fresh parsley
- High quality olive oil – Or flavored olive oil (like lemon, garlic or rosemary). This is optional, but I like a little drizzle over the top just before serving.

How to Make 7-Layer Greek Dip
- Layer one: You’ll mix up some softened cream cheese with milk, seasonings, pressed garlic, and lemon juice and spread that in a dish.
- Layer two: Next comes a layer of your favorite hummus.
- Layers 3-7: Finally, you’ll sprinkle your toppings in this order: olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, geta, and parsley.
- Cover your dish tightly and chill for at least two hours. Serve with pita chips, fresh veggies, and/or flat bread.

Storing and Other Tips
- Store finished dip, tightly covered, in the refrigerator and enjoy within 2-3 days for best results.
- If desired, you can drizzle a little olive oil (flavored olive oils like lemon, garlic, or rosemary are especially good) over the top before serving.
- A quick shortcut for some of the ingredients is to make a stop at the tapas bar in the deli section of your grocery store. I grabbed marinated olives, roasted garlic and some roasted tomatoes. I used the roasted garlic cloves in the cream cheese layer, and I mixed in some of the roasted tomatoes with the olive layer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely. It’s best when it’s had a chance to sit in the fridge and allow the flavors to develop for a bit. Assemble completely up to 6 hours ahead of time.
It’s best to remove the seeds because those parts of both tomatoes and cucumbers add quite a bit of water to the dish, which could cause separation and pooling liquid. If you’re using grape tomatoes, I wouldn’t bother trying to remove the seeds, though!
As long as you have dairy-free subs you like, they should work well here, since there isn’t much chemistry going on in this recipe!
It’s a little thinner, so you may want to put the hummus down first, but yes, tzatziki would be delicious here!

Seven-Layer Greek Dip
Ingredients
- 1 8- ounce package cream cheese softened (I used low-fat)
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon dill weed or Greek seasoning salt free–go for a mix that just has herbs
- 3 cloves garlic minced or pressed
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice plus lemon zest if you like
- 1 ½ cups hummus
- ½ cup chopped Kalamata olives
- 1 cups seeded diced cucumbers
- 1 cups seeded diced tomatoes
- ⅓ cup chopped green onions about 3 green onions completely chopped
- ½ cup crumbled Feta cheese
- ⅛-¼ cup minced fresh parsley
Instructions
- With an electric mixer, combine the cream cheese, milk, seasoning, garlic, lemon juice and zest until light and fluffy. Spread in the bottom of a pie plate or a small, shallow baking dish. Then spread a layer of hummus.
- In order, create layers by sprinkling the olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, Feta cheese, and parsley. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours. Serve with pita chips, fresh vegetables, and/or flatbread.
Notes
- I like to grab things like olives, roasted garlic, and marinated roasted tomatoes at the olive bar in the deli.
- I also toss my cucumbers and tomatoes with a little olive oil, salt and pepper before adding to the dip.
- Lastly, I like to drizzle on a little flavored olive oil right before serving for a finishing touch.

Questions & Reviews
This dip is so great. I’ve used a variation of the recipe before that omits the cream cheese/garlic/greek seasoning layer, which was still great, but this version is so much more flavorful and addicitve!
I shared this recipe with my wife this morning, and she loved what she saw! I hinted that it would be nice to have something special this evening while watching the news coverage of the Republican Primary election results in Florida. Voila ~ we had this delicious 7-layer Greek Dip served to us with Pita Chips! It made a meal for my son ~ my wife and I enjoyed our portion, too!
I love this twist on the typical seven layer dip. This is on my Super Bowl menu!
Made this last night for our New Year’s Eve Party. It was the first appetizer that was devoured!!! DEEEELISH! Used whipped cream cheese and did not use parsley as we didn’t have it. Recipe is a keeper! Thanks…
Made this last night – everyone loved it! It was totally gone by the end of the party! YUM!
I’m 13 years old and I love this dip my mom makes it for parties and for football games and everyone loves it!!!
Grilled chicken was a great idea. Thank you!
I LOVE this dip and want to make it for dinner tonight (having the parents over). But, I need an idea of what to serve along side it. It’s more of a side dish. What would be a good main dish to go along with this? I thought of Greek tacos but those seemed too similar since you’d top them with all the same things. Any ideas? I’m at a loss! Thanks!
Honestly, I eat this as a main dish all the time, hahaha! Just on flatbread or fresh pitas. But I know that’s weird. 🙂 You could still marinade some chicken in the Greek Dressing and grill it, or just do burgers or a salad or something. Clearly I’m not overly inspired right now, haha!
HELP! My printer is out of order ao I could not print the recipe for 7 Layer Greek Dip. If I don’t get it soon, I’ll be losing sleep over it!! 🙂
