  1. Hey there! It seems like there is a common trend of loving your blog and I am going to agree!. I’ve been dying to travel to Iceland and can’t find anyone to go when I want to. I’ve never done a solo trip, but am ready to bite the bullet and go. At first I didn’t think Iceland would work because it’s so expensive and your not splitting the cost with anyone. I saw that there are some cheap ways to do it: couchsurf, take the bus instead of rent a car, buy and make food rather than go to restaurants, don’t drink much etc. But does this take away from the experience?! Mostly, the car rental. I would LOVE to have that freedom and could probably make due without the others assuming you also meet people via couchsurfing. Am just wondering if the solo trip to Iceland is doable without breaking the bank, but spending moderately? Sorry it’s so long! Nervous, but want to check it out!

    • Hey Jess! There’s no way around some of the high costs of Iceland traveling solo. Honestly, it’s not a very budget-friendly destination, but there are ways to spend money. Couchsurfing would be awesome, and great for the budget– there are also hostels you can check out. If you’re going in the summer, consider camping! I would highly recommend car rental, but gas is SO expensive so you need to take that into account. There is also the option of day trips while staying in Reykjavil that will take you on excursions, but again they cost a bit.

It seems so wonderful to go! Thanks for sharing your experience. Good to know that iceland is safe enough for a female. It is on my buket list 🙂

I put a lot of thought and design into my home, so I knew I had to get curated, high-tech window shades to match.

Enter @rollishades — sleek, custom motorized shades that actually elevate the space while solving the very real sunlight problem. From light-filtering to blackout options, everything is tailored to fit perfectly and controlled with the touch of a button (or app). It’s the kind of smart, intentional design that makes a home feel finished. 🪟🤍

I easily installed these in my guest bedroom and let me just say, when guests come over, they’re getting what feels like a hotel experience in my home (minus the room service).
