Thank you for this post! I would love to know what is the name of the first private villa in your photos where you are walking along the infinity edge? It looks perfect for my solo travels!

What transportation do you recommend to get from city to city? ie Airport to Ubud or Ubud to Seminyak?

Hi Keelie! Taxis are the most expensive, and Uber is somewhat banned by the monopoly on taxi service. You can still use Uber, but you need to be very discreet about it and can’t use them to get to and from populated areas…so it might best to opt for a taxi/cab when going to or fro. Otherwise, use the Blue Bird app for cab rentals.

Another thing to note is you can rent a scooter, which is a fast way to zip through the streets and countryside. If you don’t feel comfortable driving yourself, you can use the GO-JEK app for an Uber-type service but on the back of a motorbike.

Thanks for all the information, Kiersten! Looking forward to my first trip to Bali!

My favorite smart features of my old home! 🏠

I put a lot of thought and design into my home, so I knew I had to get curated, high-tech window shades to match.

Enter @rollishades — sleek, custom motorized shades that actually elevate the space while solving the very real sunlight problem. From light-filtering to blackout options, everything is tailored to fit perfectly and controlled with the touch of a button (or app). It’s the kind of smart, intentional design that makes a home feel finished. 🪟🤍

I easily installed these in my guest bedroom and let me just say, when guests come over, they’re getting what feels like a hotel experience in my home (minus the room service).
