  1. Love this! I’ve been traveling alone for years and it used to make my mom a little nervous, but now she’s just jealous and excited every time I go someplace! She even actively defends my solo adventures when her less savvy friends criticize my travels.

And a lot of these things are a great comfort for your own peace of mind, too. It’s less stressful to travel knowing you have all of your ducks in a row. 🙂

I am so glad you wrote this. I am 25 yrs old and never traveled alone but it is what I want to do this year. I stumbled across your page while looking for information on solo travel in Iceland and after reading all the information you provide on your experiences it has fueled me even more on going! But I must admit that bringing it up to my mom is going to be hard, I’m her only child, and she is an overly protective Latina mom. This post really helps though, I love your blog, and whenever I start to doubt myself I just open up your page and instantly feel better. So what I’m trying to say is thank you for your inspiration!!!

My favorite smart features of my old home! 🏠

I put a lot of thought and design into my home, so I knew I had to get curated, high-tech window shades to match.

Enter @rollishades — sleek, custom motorized shades that actually elevate the space while solving the very real sunlight problem. From light-filtering to blackout options, everything is tailored to fit perfectly and controlled with the touch of a button (or app). It’s the kind of smart, intentional design that makes a home feel finished. 🪟🤍

I easily installed these in my guest bedroom and let me just say, when guests come over, they’re getting what feels like a hotel experience in my home (minus the room service).
