Hi Kiersten! Great set of tips. Thanks. There’s also a startup which focuses on inexpensive yet personalized international trips called Your Local Cousin (www.yourlocalcousin.com). When I traveled to Paris in mid-Feb this year, I connected with one of the Paris locals listed on the site – Amanda – who gave me amazing off beat travel tips for just $10. Used it a couple of more times after that. You should check out the website sometime. Cheap travel guidance really becomes important when you have traveling as a hobby. ?

  2. Some great tips. I especially like your tips about exploring cities by walking and choosing smaller and less known cities. That is also what I want to present on my own new blog: exploring cities on foot. But before I start presenting cities, I am currently doing a huge research about European destinations which are being blogged about (so that I know which cities I don’t really need to cover anymore).

    • Thanks Dennis! Keep in mind, there are always new tips and insights you can offer on cities that have been written about a lot 🙂

My favorite smart features of my old home! 🏠

I put a lot of thought and design into my home, so I knew I had to get curated, high-tech window shades to match.

Enter @rollishades — sleek, custom motorized shades that actually elevate the space while solving the very real sunlight problem. From light-filtering to blackout options, everything is tailored to fit perfectly and controlled with the touch of a button (or app). It’s the kind of smart, intentional design that makes a home feel finished. 🪟🤍

I easily installed these in my guest bedroom and let me just say, when guests come over, they’re getting what feels like a hotel experience in my home (minus the room service).
