  1. I love this! I used to travel solo a lot (and still do from time to time) and it’s interesting to learn the safest places to go :).

Can I just leave shout out for Korea!! It’s SUCH safe place for travelers! There’s a huge community of foreigners living here teaching English (esp. Seoul, but anywhere you’ll find some), and most of us came solo. I’ve traveled all around this country as a woman alone and I’m consistently impressed by how incredibly safe it is. Things like pickpocketing, mugging, street harassment, and assault are all really rare and there’s lots of systems set up to assist foreigners – especially English speaking foreigners – including a 24 hour English assistance phone line that you can call for any sort of directions, or to get a cab sent to you, etc. Also, the country has a lot of English language signs (not always perfect English, but understandable enough and really helpful for navigation on the subways or buses if you don’t speak Korean). It’s almost surprising, since Korea is a country that absolutely parties hard/has a very strong drinking culture, but it’s been so safe and comfortable for me, and all other foreign women living/traveling here that I know.

Oh and I also forgot to say there’s NO drugs here, really, so you don’t have to be worrying about someone trying to put something in your drink in a bar/club situation either!

Hi I am interested in going on a solo cruise anyone’s that you can recommend?

    • I haven’t actually been on one, but am planning on going on one next Spring. I think Viking River Cruises would be great for solo travelers. Norwegian Cruises also have solo-friendly cabins for 1.

      • I’ve taken a solo cruise on the Norwegian Epic and it was wonderful. The extra expense of cruising solo always stopped me before, but their cabins were affordable. They also have a special lounge area where only the solo travelers can relax, meet-up, grab a snack or socialize. And every time I went dining, people at the next table over would try to take me under their wing because I was alone. It was amusing and fun.

Spending a year abroad sounds exciting… until you see the planning involved.

Flights, edits, contracts, itineraries — not to mention the admin of being a mom. I’m usually running everything at once, so having a laptop that can keep up makes a huge difference.

I’ve been using an AMD Ryzen AI–powered laptop to keep everything organized, run AI tools even when WiFi isn’t available, and work from wherever we happen to be in the world.

So I can finish what I need to do… and get back to what’s most important ❤️
